The Navi Mumbai Premier League is the hottest and newest domestic T20 league to be introduced with a prime focus on providing a platform for Navi Mumbai Cricket to develop and flourish.Franchise-based professional T20 cricket league.Contested yearly by teams representing Navi Mumbai Region. NMPL shall deliver a grand "Cricketainment" experience for local fans, the likes of which they would have only witnessed as an outsider on TV. The idea behind NMPL is to create a link that joins investors, sponsors and players to come under one roof
Under the Aegis of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA)
The Navi Mumbai Premier League (NMPL) is conducted under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), one of India’s most respected and established cricketing bodies. This association ensures that NMPL follows recognised cricketing standards, structured league formats, and fair play principles. Being under the MCA framework adds credibility, transparency, and discipline to the league, while providing players a trusted platform aligned with India’s official cricketing ecosystem. For aspiring cricketers, NMPL offers not just competitive matches, but a professionally governed environment that supports genuine growth and opportunity.
SEASON 4 FOCUS
Entering its fourth season, NMPL continues to evolve with a sharper focus on competitiveness, organisation, and player visibility. Season 4 is designed to be bigger and more structured, with enhanced match operations, improved officiating standards, and a stronger overall league experience for players and stakeholders.
LEAGUE FORMAT
The Navi Mumbai Premier League (NMPL) features 8 area-based franchises, representing key regions across the Mumbai Metropolitan area:
Mira Bhayandar, Koparkhairne, Thane, Vashi, Sanpada, Ambernath, Belapur, and Kalyan.
The inaugural season of NMPL was held during February–March 2023 and spanned 17 days, marking the beginning of a structured grassroots cricket platform.
The tournament format included a total of 28 league matches, followed by 2 Semi-Finals and a Grand Final, ensuring high competition and ample match exposure for players.
All matches of the inaugural season were hosted at Dodaji Kondadev Stadium, providing a consistent and professionally managed playing venue.
Most matches, including the Semi-Finals and Final, were conducted as Day/Night matches, while a few matches were scheduled during the daytime.
